Indiana’s Superintendent of the Year
Tom Hunter was chosen by members of the
Indiana Association of Public School
Superintendents as the 2011 District
VIII Superintendent of the Year and 2011
Indiana Superintendent of the year.
Winners are chosen by other
superintendents in their district who
consider the qualifications and
accomplishments of area colleagues. Mr.
Hunter was also chosen from the District
winners as Indiana’s Superintendent of
the Year. This year’s competition also
considered the candidates’ ability to
exert instructional leadership using
limited resources. As the State
Superintendent of the Year he will
represent Indiana in the American
Association of School Administrator’s
National Superintendent of the Year
program.
Mr. Hunter has been superintendent of
Greensburg Community School Corporation
since 2000. He previously served as a
teacher, assistant principal, and
principal in the Greensburg Community
School Corporation.
Mr. Hunter received his Bachelors Degree
from Hanover College, his Masters Degree
from Purdue University, and his
Educational Specialist Degree from Ball
State University.

Indiana Department of Education as an
Exemplary School System for the
2010-2011 School Year.

Greensburg
Junior High School was designated by the
Indiana Department of Education as an
Exemplary School for the 2010-2011
School Year.
