Osmo Learning System- Students can learn tangible skills while having fun! The grant money will purchase a Starter Kit for each Kindergarten and 1st grade classroom at GES. The Starter Kit includes the hardware and apps for the following four pieces.
Masterpiece: Students love to draw, but with all the smartphones and iPads, the pen and paper are easily forgotten. With Masterpiece students are able to combine technology and drawing, while learning useful skills.
Words: Students can guess and spell out the on-screen hidden word by laying down real-life letters, using pictures as clues. Play individually or with a friend.
Tangram: Arrange tangible puzzle pieces to match on-screen shapes. Play with a friend or challenge yourself as levels become more difficult. This gives students a great way to exercise spatial and visual problem-solving skills.
Newton: Use your creative mind and inventive objects like a pair of glasses, keys, a pencil or anything around you. It’s all about strategy! In the beginning strategies will be simple, but as you progress they become more challenging. It will produce faster platforms and force students to think in new ways.
Congratulations to Mrs. Moore for also receiving a grant from the Decatur County Foundation. Mrs. Moore's grant will enable the purchase of Maker Space items such as: Snap circuits, Little Bits, Legos and Perler beads.
A special thank you to the Decatur County Foundation for making this possible. http://dccfound.org/
